Off The Grid — Group Travel for Singapore's 20s & 30s

About Off The Grid

Who We Are

Off The Grid (OTG) is a Singapore-based group travel company founded by Jaryl and Benjamin. We curate small-group adventures for people in their 20s and 30s who want community, curation, and ease — without the coach-tour vibe.

We are not a generic tour operator. We are a curated group travel experience designed for Singapore-based young professionals who want to go somewhere genuinely interesting with a group of like-minded people, without the stress of planning a complex trip independently.

Off The Grid is a licensed travel agent under the Singapore Tourism Board.

Our Philosophy

OTG was built on a simple belief: the people you travel with matter as much as the places you go. Every trip is designed to create the conditions for real connection — small groups, shared experiences, and founders who travel alongside you.

We choose destinations that are hard to DIY: Tibet permits and altitude acclimatisation, East Java's 2am crater hike, Yunnan's remote gorge treks, Xinjiang's winter ski resorts. These are trips where having an experienced operator genuinely changes the experience.

The Founders

Jaryl

Jaryl is the strategist and community facilitator. He takes a while to open up, but that's where the real conversations happen. He loves hearing travellers' life stories, sparking discussions about meaning, and making sure every trip leaves people with more than photos. Jaryl travels with every OTG group.

Benjamin

Benjamin is the executor and logistics lead. He handles operations, supplier relationships, and the countless details that make a complex trip run smoothly. Benjamin travels with every OTG group.

Who Travels with OTG

The typical OTG traveller is a Singapore-based professional aged 25–40. They want to travel to genuinely interesting destinations, value meeting people as much as seeing places, and don't want to plan a complex multi-country trip independently. Many join as solo travellers and leave with lasting friendships.

How We Compare to Other Travel Options

Off The Grid vs solo travel

Solo travel gives you full flexibility but requires significant planning effort for complex destinations. OTG handles all logistics while preserving the authentic experience — you get the adventure without the planning burden, and you travel with a group of like-minded people rather than alone.

Off The Grid vs large tour groups

Large tour groups (20–40 people) optimise for efficiency and tourist-trap itineraries. OTG groups are 8–12 people, move at a human pace, and choose experiences based on authenticity rather than logistics convenience. Both founders travel with every group.

Off The Grid vs booking independently

For destinations like Tibet (which requires special permits), East Java (where the 2am Ijen hike requires a local guide), or Yunnan (where the private campsite is an OTG-exclusive arrangement), independent booking is either very difficult or produces an inferior experience. OTG's value is highest on complex, permit-heavy, or logistics-intensive routes.
