Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 2: Chengdu → Mount Siguniang
Location:
Estimated 4-5 hours drive from Chengdu to Siguniang. Leave the city and climb into the mountains toward Mount Siguniang, the Four Sisters Mountain. Shuttle through Shuangqiao Valley, the Double Bridge Valley, a gentle scenic loop of meadows, glacial streams and close-up peak views without a strenuous hike. Continue to Danba (about 130km, roughly 2 hours), arriving in the evening for an optional Tibetan meal add-on. Overnight in Danba.
Day 3: Siguniang → Danba → Tagong
Location:
Estimated 4hr drive to the Yala area with stops. Drive on toward Yala Snow Mountain, a striking peak that dominates the grassland skyline, then the Yuzixi valley, a quieter alpine area of forest and pasture good for a short walk and photos away from the crowds (Optional horse riding). End the day in Xinduqiao, the photographer's corridor, willows poplars and mountain backdrops that turn gold in the late afternoon light. Overnight Xinduqiao.
Day 4: Tagong → Xinduqiao
Location:
Estimated 5hrs total drive and stops across the day, including sightseeing. Visit Muya Temple, a Tibetan monastery set against the highland backdrop, a good stop for culture and a break from driving. Continue to Sidingcuo, a high alpine lake ringed by forest, then Red Sea Lake, known for its reflections of the surrounding peaks, the two lakes make for the scenic high point of the day. Finish the drive down into Kangding, the gateway town to the Tibetan highlands, tucked into a river valley. Overnight Kangding.
Day 5: Xinduqiao → Kangding → Chengdu
Location:
Estimated 1hr drive from Kangding to Mugecuo, then Kangding to Chengdu about 4 hours via the Erlangshan Tunnel. Morning at Mugecuo, an alpine lake surrounded by forest and a natural hot spring area to soak tired legs before the long drive back. Return to Chengdu by the afternoon or early evening. Overnight Chengdu.
Day 6: Fly back home to Singapore
