What's Not Included

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 0 (7th Nov): Fly off from SG

Location:

To some the trip begins at the airport!! If you're taking the recommended flight on the 7th of Nov, then this is your Day 0!

Day 1 (8th Nov): Arrive in Dali & Erhai Ecological Corridor

Location:

Land in Dali and head straight to the Erhai Ecological Corridor, a lakeside cycling path with the most photographed S-bend in Yunnan. Easy first day: cycle, grab a coffee by the lake, and settle in. Tonight you're sleeping on the sunset side of Erhai.

Day 2 (9th Nov): Dali Old Town

Location:

Morning at the Dali Old Town market — local produce, Bai minority traders, proper street food chaos. Lunch at a farmhouse courtyard inside the old town, then a free afternoon to wander. Dinner back at Erhai with a traditional song and dance performance from the local ethnic minority community.

Day 3 (10th Nov): Dali → Lijiang Old Town

Location:

Sleep in, brunch, then a 1hr 40min drive into Lijiang Old Town. Afternoon exploring the Great Waterwheel, Lion Hill for panoramic views, and the tucked-away live music bars in the old town lanes. Dinner: earthen hot pot, the Lijiang classic.

Day 4 (11th Nov): Tiger Leaping Gorge

Location:

One of China's top 10 most scenic hikes — the Tiger Leaping Gorge High Trail, 8km through one of the deepest gorges on earth. Key stops: Dragon Pool Waterfall and the infamous Going Crazy Rock (发疯石). Back to Lijiang by evening, legs tired, views banked.

Day 5 (12th Nov): Gan He Ba Outdoor Party

Location:

A 3km valley hike into Gan He Ba, then an OTG outdoor party setup: hot pot, BBQ, canopy, Bluetooth speakers, open sky. Good food, good company, and no agenda. Back to Lijiang by evening for a free night in the old town.

Day 6 (13th Nov): Shangri-La

Location:

Drive up to Shangri-La and spend the afternoon at Napa Lake with yaks on open grassland, coffee with a view. Then the Giant Prayer Flags at the edge of town for photos, followed by a Tusi Banquet dinner with live cultural performance. Optional evening visit to the Prayer Wheel for blessings.

Day 7 (14th Nov): Drive to Deqin & Feilai Temple

Location:

Late start, then a 3.5 hour drive deeper into the mountains to Deqin County. Late afternoon at Feilai Temple, OTG has prepared golden prayer flags (金幡) and sky horse papers (龙达) for a traditional Tibetan blessing ritual. Quiet dinner with the sacred mountains in view.

Day 8 (15th Nov): Kawagarbo Alpenglow & Back to Shangri-la

Location:

Up at 7:30am for the main event: Kawagarbo Peak, the holiest of Tibet's Eight Sacred Mountains, lit gold by the first rays of sun at dawn. One of the most striking moments of the entire trip. After breakfast, drive back to Shangri-La and spend the afternoon in Dukezong Ancient Town.

Day 9 (16th Nov): Shangri-La → Lijiang Impressions Show

Location:

Drive back to Lijiang for lunch, then the Lijiang Impressions Show (丽江千古情), a large-scale outdoor performance telling the story of Naxi and Dongba culture through music, dance, and spectacle. One of the most famous cultural shows in Southwest China. Dinner in Lijiang, then evening drive to Dali for the final night.

Day 10 (17th Nov): Fly Home from Dali

Location:

Hotel breakfast, transfer to Dali Airport (DLU), fly home. Last chance to pick up Yunnan coffee, tie-dye fabric, and dried flowers on the way out. 10 days, one gorge hike, multiple mountain sunrises, and a valley party. See you on the next one.

Important Notes

The Ganheba campsite night is the social anchor: a private OTG moment that makes the trip hard to replicate independently.
